Reports: Young, Springsteen and Blur booked for Glasto

Comments

Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and Blur have been booked as headliners for next year’s Glastonbury Festival, it was reported today.

The Sun claimed today that the three acts were lined up for the event in a bid to counter the sluggish sales experienced earlier this year. Qthemusic.com reported earlier this month that all three acts were the subject of heated rumour by those in the know for the 2009 event.

The Glasto date would come just a few days before Blur are due to play a reunion show at Hyde Park in London. Although Neil Young has played numerous other UK festivals – including the Fleadh in London, the now defunct Phoenix Festival and last year’s Hop Farm event in Kent - he has yet to play Glastonbury, although organiser Michael Eavis is known to have long been keen.

Glasto chiefs will announce their bill officially in the New Year. Other names which have been circulating include Kanye West, following Jay-Z's appearance this summer.
