Robbie Williams has revealed he has cleared the air with former band Take That - and said: "I would love to be in the band again".
But the singer, who has been out of the spotlight since his last album release two years ago, ruled out any immediate return while he concentrates on his own career. Take That have engineered their own phenomenal return after an almost decade-long break to top the charts with a pair of albums since the split. The most recent The Circus is number one after being released last week and selling more than 430,000 copies during its first week on sale.
By contrast Robbie's last release Rudebox was a relative flop compared to the sales of his previous albums, and he has been largely reclusive and out of the public eye apart from making a Radio 4 documentary about UFOs.
For many years Robbie has spoken bitterly about his time in Take That, launching rants and sideswipes on stage and in interviews. But now has told, on the Inner Sanctum section of his website, how the pair have patched up their differences and have met up to chat.
The star said: "We got together a lot over the summer. It was amazing. We've all matured a lot since we parted. I'm very pleased to say the differences we have have just melted away."
"Everything we had problems with each other about just boils down to one thing - victims of circumstance. No one was right, no one was wrong, it just 'was'."
Williams said he and the band laughed endlessly when they were back together and they were "bellyache laughs". After the meeting he said he "felt like a ton of bricks had been removed from my shoulders".
He added: "I'd love to be in the band but I've got some unfinished business of my own."
