It may sound like the sort of long-protracted, cruel death meted out to seal pups prompting campaigns by Macca, but Slow Club are actually rather lovely.
The ‘anti-folk’ Sheffield duo, who use wooden chairs, bottles and spoons as percussive props, building wonderful, bittersweet acoustic ditties, as if the White Stripes were reinvented as a skiffle band. Rebecca and Charles have now taken advantage of the fact that it now seems cool to make Christmas records once again.
“It’s ok that I pray that you will miss your flight and have to stay with me another night” they sing on this tender track which is released as a download-only track.
