Tony Christie has revealed how Alex Turner was so delighted with the veteran crooner's version of an Arctic Monkeys hit that he has played it again and again to his mother.
Christie recorded a version of the Arctics' Only The Ones Who Know for his recently released album of covers Made In Sheffield.
In an interview for this week's Q The Jury programme, he said Turner was delighted with the results.
"I was presenting an award at the Q Awards a few weeks ago and Alex was at my table and I was presenting the best newcomer and it was the Last Shadow Puppets that got the prize," said Christie.
"When he'd had a few drinks he just sort of leaned over and said 'I really like what you did to my song - and do you know what? We got a copy and I was with my mum on the train and we played it over and over again all the way back to Sheffield'. That made my day."
