Comments

They have both left theatre gigs long behind them but Coldplay and The Killers today announced a joint charity show to just 2,000 people at the newly renamed O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire.

The bands have agreed to play the show in aid of War Child, following that evening's Brit Awards on February 18, each playing a special 45-minute set.

The event is to mark the charity’s 15th anniversary and the release of the new album Heroes (released on February 16 on Parlophone label. War Child is being supported for the evening by O2 to mark the launch of the new 'O2 Academy' venues.

Coldplay said today: “In our eyes, War Child is one of the world's most important charities, and The Killers are one of our favourite bands, so playing this concert is an absolute pleasure for us.”

Ben Knowles, music director of War Child. “War Child are proud and very excited by Coldplay and The Killers’ amazing generosity. The impact their support will have is huge."

Tickets will cost £50 and will be available through a lottery system. You can register for the lottery from 9am on Friday at http://www.warchildheroes.com .
