Enjoy Destroy - Holiday Lover
Forthcoming single Holiday Lover is a blast of uptempo, downbeat rock from this Guildford-based four-piece. Grungey (due, mainly, to the song’s Cobain-esque vocals) and poppy in equal measure, this song combines elements of Nirvana, Queens Of The Stone Age and Symposium (remember them?), resulting in three minutes of moody, muscular rock action.
With producer Matt Hyde – who’s worked with Ash, Fightstar and Slipknot – at the helm , and with an album already under their studded belts, Holiday Lover is the next step in a career that has already seen them tour with The Subways, Elliot Minor and Juliette And The Licks.
It takes the exuberance of the American alternative rock scene and subverts it slightly, adding a little British cynicism into the equation. By building themselves up slowly and surely, and by letting the power of the music do the talking instead of relying on hype, Enjoy Destroy are immersing themselves in the world of rock’n’roll – playing it and being it, rather than selling it. Good luck to them!
