Last finalist in Glastonbury comp

Comments

The last place in our Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition has gone to Brighton-based band Maura Kincaid who won our people's vote. The quintet now join the 11 other finalists - already chosen by our judging panel - who will take part in a live play-off before our esteemed experts.

Maura Kincaid (pron: More-ah kin-kayd), were formed in Worthing, East Sussex, swiped their name from a Chuck Palahniuk novel. They say: "We want to fill the skies over Glastonbury with a sound so spectacular that the cows levitate overhead and the earth dries beneath you're very feet."

The live invitation-only finals will take place later this month and will see each of the chosen acts trying to impress our judges - which includes Michael and Emily Eavis, BBC Radio 1's Huw Stephens and Q's edtor in chief Paul Rees - at the Pilton Working Men's Club on March 27, 28 or 29 to see which artists have the potential to wow the crowds at Glasto. At stake is a slot on one of the main stages at the event.

  • I have been trying to vote for Maura Kincaid for your Glastonbury festival but keep getting refused entry to any pages having to do with voting.
