Keane in 3D world-first

Comments

Keane are to perform in the world’s first 3D live webcast with a show from Abbey Road studios next month, it was announced today.

The band will be giving away 3D glasses with their new single Better Than This next week to allow fans to appreciate the gig which will take place in Studio 1.

Abbey Road was notably the venue for the world’s first global television broad when The Beatles did their All You Need Is Love broadcast via satellite in 1967.

The new show will feature live mixed graphics from digital artists D-Fuse and follows other innovations from the band including effectively using their website as a TV channel, being the first band to release a single on a USB Stick and becoming early adopters of Twitter.

The band said: “We believe that the tradition of rock'n'roll is to always innovate, to bring new ideas and concepts into music. We are therefore incredibly excited about the prospect of being the first band to beam our music live in 3D over the internet.

Audio from the show will also be broadcast by Absolute Radio. You can watch the webcast at the band’s website keanemusic.com.
