Muse have told how their next album is taking an ‘orchestral’ direction which could ese them ‘knocking on Classic FM’s door’.
The band are working on the follow-up to Black Holes and Revelations which is expected to emerge later this year to tie-in with a tour in autumn. In an interview with BBC 6 Music frontman Matt Bellamy revealed: “A symphonic album has turned up here, like a full collaboration with an orchestra.
“There's definitely a few things on the album which are segueing into each other and it's all very orchestral, but that could take over the album, so it could actually be kind of classical act basically, and move away from rock all together.
"We'll be knocking on Classic FM's door, you know?" he added.
He has previously told how there had been slow progress with the new material because he is scoring the arrangements himself. Bellamy said the band were about half way through the process.
"Over the next couple of months I think we're gonna have to start narrowing it down and start saying, 'Right, what are we going to do here?',” the singer and guitarist explained.
