Pete Doherty claims his record label told him to stay away from a Lily Allen gig to stop any difficult scenes with his ex, Kate Moss.
In an interview for the new edition of Q, Doherty said he was 'insulted' by the demand, but would "probably have headbutted" Moss's boyfriend Jamie Hince of The Kills if he had gone along to the show.
Doherty, who released his debut solo album Grace/Wastelands last week, split from Moss in summer 2007 after an on-off relationship.
The musician told Q: "I wanted to see Lily Allen play the other week. EMI got in touch and said 'we don't want you there because Kate Moss wil be there and it will take attention away from Lily - can you not go?' I was so insulted."
He added: "I think I would have been courteous enough. Then I'd probably have headbutted her new boyfriend, put her over my shoulder and ran off."
You can read the full, strange interview - and read about the shabby state of Pete's Wiltshire pile - in the new edition of Q, on sale Wednesday.

Love from an unadmirer.
