To mark the release of Doves fourth album Kingdom Of Rust, Doves took over Qthemusic.com as guest editors for the week. The band received a four star review in Q for their new work, citing KOR "an album of life-affirming, genre-busting, career-defining majesty", no less.
In the words of the band's Jimi Goodwin:
"Andy, Jez and myself are guest editing the Qthemusic.com website from Monday for one week. Amongst the things we've put together for you this week are; picking a track from a batch of new artists that we are currently listening to for your delectation every day; I'll be talking about my dream Q cover star; Andy and Jez will be talking you through our current live set and we’ll all help you take a trip down memory lane recollecting the making of all four Doves albums. Don't believe what they say... it was all me!
Things are good in Doves’ world right now. Our album Kingdom Of Rust is out today and we are currently rehearsing for our tour starting in Cambridge next Wednesday the 15th at The Corn Exchange. After four years away we are bowled over by the reception so far for the new record and very eager to get out and play live. We will try and throw some more artist recommendations in over the week.
