Hailing from Manchester, the Doves grew up and cut their teeth in one of Britain's most thriving music scenes. Along the way they've worked and collaborated with a few names you might know.
Damon Gough (aka Badly Drawn Boy)
The members of the Doves at one time used to act as Damon's backing band and they remain good friends, despite him pipping them to the post in the Mercury prize back in 2000.

Elbow
Doves got Elbow to support them back when Guy Garvey and co were just starting out and you can hear their good friend Garvey providing backing vocals for occasional tracks on 2005's Some Cities. Following Elbow's breakthrough success in 2008, it's suggested that Doves could be the band 'most likely to do an Elbow' in 2009.

Inspiral Carpets
From the Madchester era of the late 80s to early 90s, Oldham's psychedelic indie-rockers Inspiral Carpets are good friends with the band and have taken to covering Pounding live.
Cherry Ghost
Doves have championed Bolton boy Simon Aldred since he was a solo artist performing as Cherry Ghost through to the present band line-up. Jimi has appeared on Cherry Ghost recordings and provided bass and drums on their debut single Mathematics.
