LoveLikeFire - William
After struggling to find musicians who were serious about making a career from music, San Franciscans Ann Yu (guitar/vocals) and David Farrell (drums/keyboard) were booked for a move to LA when they came across a promising online ad from guitarist/keyboard player Ted Parker.
The move was quickly cancelled and LoveLikeFire was born in early 2006. Somewhat unusually they remained unsigned whilst garnering attention and critical favour, releasing two albums and self-booking shows in the US.
Sounding at times vocally like a more laid back Karen O and with an early 90s shoegazey feel, fans of My Bloody Valentine should find something to like. In William the sound is bolstered by the occasional throbbing bassline and urgent repeating drum fill which adds more immediacy to the impending swell.
Single William is available to buy now, as are previous albums Bed of Gold (2006) and An Ocean In The Air (2007).
