Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer - Straight Out Of Surrey

On the eve of a trio of London dates, let us introduce you to Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer, the banjolele-playing, ghetto-blasting, pipe-smoking creator of 'chap-hop' from the South East. His influences are varied - Chuck D, Terry-Thomas, Afrika Bambaataa and George Formby – and his subject matter centres on the finer aspects of old-school Brit culture (cricket, tea on the lawn, good manners) juxtaposed with a a dryly inspired commentary (see track: Timothy) mixed with urban licks and vintage beats. A favourite of Norman Cook, if we mention the words Collapsed Lung, it may make more sense...

Mr B's debut album Flattery Not Included is out now via MySpace.
