Adele Adkins has said she's already well into writing her follow up to her Grammy winning debut album 19.
The revelation comes as something of a surprise since she previously indicated she wasn't going to be rushed into capitalising on the overwhelming success of her debut; stating that if it took years to create something she was happy with she would wait that long.
However it seems writers block isn't a problem so far, speaking to the BBC at the Glamour Awards last night that she announced she's "almost halfway there". She also indicated subject matter hasn't changed too much either "Boys, I've still got the same problems", adding "They get worse because I'm away all the time. It gets a bit harder."
After initially appearing to stall, 19 became an overnight smash in the US following her appearance on Saturday Night Live, the same night as presidential candidate Sarah Palin who confessed to Adele she was a fan. Being an Obama supporter Adele was slightly less impressed with her politics.
The new album is now expected to finished in time for release in 2010.
