Blur appeared together in public for the first time since their reunion was announced, not only that but they scooped an award.
Damon, Alex, Graham and Dave all appeared together at the Mojo Awards in London last night where they picked up the Mojo Inspiration award.
Speaking at the event Blur member turned writer and entrepreneurial New Order inspired cheese-maker Alex James said the band had had a teary final rehearsal ahead of their first reunion gig tomorrow.
“We ran through The Universal today", “It was really emotional. It brought a tear to our eyes." he said, adding “It’s the best feeling ever to be back together and we’re out celebrating tonight.”
Other big names at the event included Paul Weller, Johnny Marr, Fleet Foxes and Yoko Ono, who picked up the lifetime achievement award. Describing the warm affection she felt at the event she said she was very grateful and thanked Mojo for their "courageous" decision.
Those into Blur and food can find Q's verdict on Alex James' soft Blue Monday cheese in the forthcoming issue of Q. Whether or not you can buy it at the merch table at their gigs is another question?
