The future according to Dizzee

Comments

Dizzee Rascal has announced the follow-up to his current chart-topping single Bonkers will be a collaboration with Calvin Harris.

The pair have collaborated previously with Harris writing the music for Dizzee's single Dance Wiv Me, which also reached number one. The new collaboration is entitled Holiday and will appear on his next album Tongue 'N' Cheek, scheduled for September release.

One of the stars of the grime scene, Dizzee also hinted that the next album could see him move away slightly from his roots, describing it as being a bit cheeky, he said "The theme of it is naughty but nice. Just celebrating the good things in life".

Separately, he is also reported as stating his desire to work with The Prodigy and Timbaland. Describing The Prodigy he said, "Seeing them live, you see how powerful they are and how much intensity is in their shows,” he told The Sun newspaper. "It's just hit after hit after hit. I just wanna be a part of that."

On the possibility of working with super-producer Timbaland (Missy Elliot, Bjork, Tupac, Justin Timberlake) he says "The day I get to work with Timbaland, I'll be excited,” he said.

  • How many times does it have to be said, Dizzee is NOT grime, and has not been since the Showtime album in 2004. He has said so himself many many times and claiming that he is is disrespectful to him and the scene itself.
