Former Beatles re-unite for rock band

Comments

Ringo Starr and Sir Paul McCartney appeared together yesterday for the first public preview of the Beatles Rock Band game.

The game due for release on September 9 is a special Beatles-only edition of the popular franchise which will allow game-players to 'play' karaoke style, 45 classic Beatles tracks using customised controllers, including special guitar shaped controllers replicating some of the more famous Beatles instruments.

Speaking about their attempt at playing the game at the event, a modest Ringo said "The game is good, the graphics are very good, and we were great." whilst Sir Paul enthused "We love the game, it's fantastic".

Players will be transported to different famous Beatles gig venues as they progress through the game, including The Cavern and Shea Stadium. However, unlike the real band they risk being booed off if their guitar, bass or drum performances aren't up to scratch.

Yoko Ono and the late George Harrison's wife also attended the event, appearing on stage to greet the audience before Sir Paul and Ringo introduced the game. It is the first time the Beatles have licensed their music to a third party.

Eager fans can see screen shots and register for more information about the game at the Beatles Rock Band website.
