Tributes to the late pop star are coming in from the music and showbiz worlds following his death yesterday at UCLA Hospital, Los Angeles.

Confirming his passing to the waiting media last night:
My brother, the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson passed away on Thursday June 25th, 2009 at 2.26pm. It is believed he suffered cardiac arrest in his home.
Our family requests that the media please respects our privacy at this tough time.
And may Allah be with you Michael, always. Love you.

I feel privileged to have hung out and worked with Michael. He was a massively talented boy man with a gentle soul. His music will be remembered forever and my memories of our time together will be happy ones.

michael, some people came close but no one ever matched ur spectacular talent and ability to b of interest 2 people, we will always walk in ur shadow. in life u were a legend in death u will b timeless because ur legacy will far outlive all of us. u were a smooth criminal u stole all our hearts but we didnt even notice till u left. u bypassed race, age, gender with ur music and now united a planet in grief with your death. tanx for the chance to rock with you.

i am completely lost for words, im just in shock.
michael was one of the best around , he was an inspiration to everyone and he will be sadly missed, i still havent stopped crying. only yesterday morning i was picking up the train tickets ready for his comeback concerts and now its like my whole world has come crashing down.
my heart goes out to his family and friends and life and music will not be the same without him ! Love you so much michael and hope your watching and dancing over us .. be happy .. celebrate his life not his death .

I feel so sad today! Michael Jackson was a true music icon! I grew up with listening to all of of his songs from the Jackson 5s to him going solo! and manmy of these songs carried me through good and bad times! there will never be another Michael Jackson he was a true music legend and his memory will live on forever through his music. you will be sadly missed, you truly left your mark on this world. thoughts go out to your familly and children. in life some paths are long, some short. i just wish your path could have been a longer one. long or short...both are just fleeting moments in time.

im ever so sad that michael jackson died. I was crying or last night because i was watching all the tribute programmes to him and it was so sad. It was also deeply moving how he had a concert in 1 week and he just died. rip michael jackson cause ur a person who will never e forgotten by me. i love u and god bless u and ur family:(

Micheal Jackson was an inspiration. He was amazing and his music videos, his singing, his dancing was all the best. He always seemed to be friendly by what i seen on the news! He was a legend. His music, has a meaning. They all special words!
I'm only 14 and i'm so happy i was born into the world when he was alive, he was probaly the first ever celebrity i knew, not personally though. His music was constally played through out my family household, ever since this day.
The world, i know is devasted.
Yes he may be gone but he will NEVER be forgotton.
Him and his music will live on forever.
Miss you Micheal, thankyou for being such a amazing Inspiration.

The world is a sadder place to live without the gunius they called mj i grew up listening to his music never believed any of the accusations made against him maybe he was a little excentric but arnt we all in are own little ways he was dogged by the press and a lot of hypocrits who now say he was a genius but diddnt stick by him while the accusations flew michael you will be sadly missed you were a true genius and i dont think the world will ever see anyone as talented as you were good night and rest in peace no one can hurt you now sleep peacefully behind the gates of heaven..YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN...

Thank you Michael Jackson for you hard work and dedication to bring us decades of entertainment. Thank you for the charity work you did. Thank you for hardly ever saying anything bad about anyone, even those who backstabbed you and persecuted you. Thank you for always loving your fans and doing your best to give back to the fans.

I can't stop thinking of MJ ~ His talent, his personality, his kind heart. No one will ever match his talent. He has opened the doors for so many! He will be missed by us all! The legend, the icon! Oh how I WISH he had known how much we all cared! I dont think this absent feeling in our hearts will ever be filled. Please rest in peace Michael - We love you with all our hearts!

Indeed the world has lost a great person.Michael led a very good and profound life and could be discribed as a good ambassador of Africa.I really like him for his kind heart of generosity particularly for children.All those who planned false things against will forever bow their heads in shame.He will forever be remembered
