Musicians turn out for Love Music, Hate Racism

Comments

Pete Doherty, Reverend And The Makers and a host of other musicians turned out in sunshine yesterday for the Love Music, Hate Racism Carnival in Stoke.

Doherty kicked of a four song set with The Libertines track What A Waster, changing a line to denounce racists; later closing with Time For Heroes he told the audience “in times of crisis it’s time for heroes”.

Reverend And The Makers
gave the carnival goers a sneak preview of tracks from their forthcoming album as well as fan favourite Heavyweight Champion Of The World.

Sam Duckworth a.k.a. Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly also performed at the organisation's annual event, this year timed just ahead of the European elections on June 4, when some fear the BNP's share of the vote will increase.
