Oasis are putting the final preparations together for three giant homecoming shows at Manchester's Heaton Park.
The dates starting from tonight (June 4) kick off the band's European tour which features some big name support acts including Kasabian, The Enemy and Reverend and the Makers causing the event to be compared to their legendary Knebworth shows in 1996. Liam himself reckons they might even top them, telling the Manchester Evening News "In total seriousness, I reckon these gigs have the potential to be even better than the Knebworth shows".
Organisers SJM conceerts have been planning for six months for the gigs, describing the event as "a celebration of Manchester" and the "biggest thing to come to the park since the Pope's visit in 1982" - so no pressure then ....
