Many big names from the world of music and sport are preparing to appear at Michael Jackson's memorial service later today, as LA braces itself for an event on a scale of which it hasn't seen before, with authorities asking ticket-less fans to stay away.
Alongside the 8,750 fans granted tickets through the official ballot sytsem, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Jennifer Hudson, Mariah Carey, John Mayer and Usher are all expected to attend. They will be joined by stars and celebrities from the world of sport with US basketball legends Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson attending as well as the the Reverend Al Sharpton and Martin Luther King III.
The LA memorial ceremony begins at 10:00am (6:00pm UK time) and is being produced by Grammy Awards producer Ken Ehrlich and directed by Kenny Ortega who was due to direct Jackson's planned London dates. It will be broadcast in the UK on BBC Two and Sky Arts Tv channels.
Jackson's body will be buried at a private family service shortly before it commences.

Michael Jackson has been one of my favorite musion's actor enertainer of our generation.
As a girl I listed to his albums in the middle of west texas.
before we went out to party in the 80's my best friend and I had to watch MTV he made Mtv with his videos.
as a teen I remember when he was in the movie Ben about a rat or mouse and a little boy.
I loved all of his song's and never believed the abuse that he was charged with.
I don't care what anyone tell's me M.J. was and will alway's be the King of Pop and rock as well.
