Spinnerette - Baptized By Fire
With the genre of 'electro-rock' listing high on music's cardinal sins one wouldn't have given ex-Distiller Brody Dalle a great shot at success for her new collective Spinnerette.
It's amazing what wonders an infectious chorus can perform though as Dalle is more than savvy enough to use every pounding drum beat and softly strummed six string to tee up a euphoric whirlwind of blips and beeps. It's not particularly clever but it certainly is big in a 'raise your arms and salute the rock Gods' sort of way.
If Baptized By Fire tickles your fancy then you can catch Spinnerette whilst they're still touring the UK this week from the London Electric Ballroom to Glasgow's King Tuts.
