Started in 1994 in Strathclyde Parkbefore subsequently moving to it's current larger home in Kinross, T in The Park has played host to many memorable sets including then whipper-snappers Coldplay in 1999 who caused a massive queue outside their tent whilst singing soon to be hit single, Yellow.
We caught up with some of this year's acts ahead of 2009's musical extravaganza to ask them about their plans for the fest, memories if they've played it before and of course, the pressing question - what will they wear on this year's newly introduced Fancy Dress Friday! (ok, well it is important to some people).
First up: Jack from White Lies
Who are you looking forward to seeing at T in the Park 2009?
Recently we were lucky enough to spend a bit of time with Kings of Leon, and their live shows these days are flawless, so that's bound to be good. But also I'd love to see Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds at some point in my life. M83 just did a fantastic White Lies remix, and his recent output has been amazing so I'd love to see that live, and also Mumford and Sons are brilliant live and I've had the pleasure of releasing a few of their EP's through my Chess Club Records label.
Have you got a T in the Park highlight?
T in the Park was White Lies first ever festival. I remember being very nervous, but I also remember being blown away by the rush of playing to such a good crowd at such an early time in the day.
TITP festival goers did their bit for the environment last year - what's your green tip for people attending T in the Park this year?
Get involved with picking up the plastic cups people drop on the floor, last year you seemed to be able to trade them for yet more alcohol.
Credit crunch 'n' all that, any money saving tips for festival goers on a budget?
Yes, wear a bum-bag. Our tour manager always wears one, and it's full of money.
There's Fancy Dress Friday at T in the Park this year - what's your fancy dress outfit gonna be?
Something classic like a pirate or maybe something a little more pop culture like Indiana Jones.
Every day this week - more Q and A's from , The View, Tommy Reilly, Airborne Toxic Event.
