Local Natives arrived at this years' SXSW unsigned and with only their sparse concoction of brooding guitars and haunting harmonies to sustain them. They departed as one of the festivals' buzz bands and with enough momentum to release their debut 7" single on Chess Club records.
The track itself is revolves around an inventive rhythm section, slowly building to a ripe old stomp down whilst Kelcey Ayer muses on his decision to "enter the night for the promise of light".
The band have recently toured the UK with American alt pop champions Of Montreal but for those of you to have missed out this Los Angeles quintet can still be caught on Thursday at the London Borderline or at this weekends Latitude festival.
