Bob Dylan GPS fun

Comments

Bob Dylan fans: Never more shall ye be lost. For Mr. Zimmerman is apparently interested in voicing a GPS device.

It was during his BBC6 radio show Theme Time Radio Hour, Dylan said: "I am talking to a couple of car companies about being the voice of their GPS system."

He then went on to imply that his sense of direction might not be of the conventional kind:

"I think it would be good if you are looking for directions and hear my voice saying something like, 'Left at the next street, no a right. You know what? Just go straight"

This, obviously, creating a mountain of 'where-will-Bob-take-me' puns. Here's a few roaming around the Q office:

"Don't think twice, in 100 yards it's, all right"

"You drive (just like a woman)"

"Take next ramp onto Highway 61 revisited"

"After 200m take a left, or maybe right. Sooner or later One Of Us Most Know.

"Stuck inside of an iphone with the Memphis blues again"

"The times are a-changing lanes"

"Cannot find destination. Hey, It Ain't me babe".

Saying that, the folk legend might just have been looking for a creative and smooth way to link songs, as he said:

"I probably shouldn't do it, because whichever way I go I always end up at one place: Lonely Avenue. Lucky I'm not totally alone, for Ray Charles beat me there.

Nevertheless, the Bob On The Tracks (as it undoubtedly will be called), would make it easier for him on his frequent visits to the childhood homes of fellow musicians.

  • You're blowin' in the wind on the roads a man must walk down like a rolling stone and then you say: "oh, my God, dead end street"

(hey! are the kinks still alive?)
