Brian Molko Collapses Onstage

Comments

Placebo singer Brian Molko was carried off stage after fainting during their set at Summer Sonic Festival in Osaka, Japan on Sunday.

This happened in a week that so far has seen Jet's singer Nic Cester collapse onstage at QTheMusicClub, and Kasabian's Tom Meighan diagnosed with swine flu.

Molko passed out mid-set and was promptly carried off by security and staff. A fan video clip has appeared on Youtube to commemorate the event.

A message from the band appeared on Placeboworld.com on Monday, and stated that Molko was recovering fine after being struck down by a virus, which, combined with an intensive touring schedule caused his collapse.

Q is currently taking bets who the next singer to suffer an onstage illness will be. Odds against "health nut" Pete Doherty are, not surprisingly, quite low.

Placebo are scheduled to play this year's Reading and Leeds festivals later this month.

  • It's Placeboworld.CO.UK not .com ... at least get your info straight Q!

I also wouldn't say the video 'commemorates' the event, that would be more than a little sick, would it not?

  • It is indeed PLACEBOWORLD.CO.UK

You can read the full message from the band at the website, which assures fans that Brian is at home resting, and doing fine.

Thank you Paf, for the correction and support.
