LA's Hockey is one of those bands that just make you feel a bit bad about yourself at the same time as they make you happier than you've ever been.
Yes, the pun-friendly Americans are very concerned with the state of everything green, but no, they don't mean to make you feel bad because you're not. Or do they? Their music, which to be fair is why they are here, is nevertheless as balloon-and-cake-inducing as anything mechanically grinded out by a eco-ignorant pop giant.
Their debut album Mind Chaos will soon hit these shores, and it's. bloody. great. Not to mention mindblowingly daft. Just check out our Track-by-track.
A Californian mix of LCD Soundsystem, Beck and The Strokes, their willingness to save the planet is only outdone by their fondness for crossing over the fragile borders of genres.
Because amidst the odd and eccentric sprinkles of Brian May-style solos, beats Caribbean and daft country there is a solid, classic, floor-filling and thoroughly compelling backbeat.
Not too shabby.
