Jet's appearance at Q's monthly Q The Music Club show at London's Hard Rock Café was cut short last night when singer Nic Cester collapsed onstage after just two songs. Cester did get back to his feet and jokingly announced that he had been diagnosed with swine flu, before collapsing again. He was taken to hospital and detained overnight.
The band soldiered on for three further songs without their frontman, but were then forced to call a halt to the show. Both the band and Q would like to apologise to fans who made the trip into London last night for the unavoidable premature end to the show.
The band have also issued the following statement:
"Nic Cester had been unwell all day but insisted on coming to the gig and not letting fans down. Nic was rushed to University College Hospital in Euston in an ambulance and is being treated for symptoms of gastroenteritis, acute vomiting and dehydration."
The band will release their new album Shaka Rock on September 7 and will tour the UK to coincide with it. For further info go to:
