Legendary jazz guitarist and influential guitar inventor Les Paul has passed away, aged 94.
One of the true fathers of rock 'n' roll, Les Paul's contribution to the music world needs no introduction.
Having pioneered multitracking and overdubbing - the very foundation on which all modern music is recorded, and functions we now take for granted - not to mention creating his famous guitar and sustain-heavy guitar sound, Les Paul was in every meaning of the word, a genius.
Chairman of Gibson guitars, Henry Juszkiewicz said "His influence extends around the globe and across every boundary".
