Phil Spector Jail Rant

Comments

We at QTheMusic find Phil Spector rather fascinating. That's why half a wall in our office is dedicated to him and his hair. (The other half for some reason sports Fergie, Robbie Fowler and James Blunt...and people say we don't have any taste...).

But now that Spector has been in jail for the murder of Lana Clarkson for the sum total of three months, it's about time he started complaining about things.

Being held in a prison that also hosts Charles "I-was-inspired-by-The-Beatles-too" Manson, Spector wrote in a letter recently made public that he did not wish to stay with "all these lowlife scumbags, gangsters and Manson types".

Spector, 69, continued to thank his wife Rachelle, 29, for driving 400 miles two days a week to the prison to make sure he was doing fine and to give him packaged food, so he could avoid dining with the other inmates. "She's a real trouper" Spector said.

The eccentric producer was sentenced to a minimum of 19 years earlier this year after being found guilty of the murder of actress Lana Clarkson. His 'Wall Of Sound' recording technique and work with acts such as The Ronettes secured his legacy as a musical innovator before famously working with The Beatles on Let It Be and on several of John Lennon's solo albums, including the genius Imagine.
