The Cranberries have announced they are reforming for a US tour later this year.
It's been seven years since the Limerick band last performed together, not counting January's gig at Trinity college, where Dolores O'Riordan performed with Noel and Mike Hogan, guitarist and bassist respectfully.
The Cranberries' back catalogue is filled with pop moments, though the lyrics often tend towards something darker than their breezy melodies would immediately suggest. In the 90s debut single Linger, made them known both sides of the Atlantic before Zombie became a radio hit both in Britain and on U.S. college radio.
Returning from the hiatus which in 2003, the band is now back to tour North America interspersing their old material with tracks from No Baggage, O'Riordan's new solo album released earlier this week. Tour dates are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, former Cranberries producer Stephen Street will be part of the Instigate Debate panel at this year's Reading and Leeds festivals.
