Fans of Swedish poprock band Kent might see some reference points in Beauty, second single from LA trio Gliss.
Big guitars; fragile yet rough vocals; lyrics about love and loss, Beauty is the optimistic cousin of the Swedes' 1997 album Isola, the Americans rather adding an anthemic aspect to their gloomy prospects, landing comfortably on a sunset-soaked highway somewhere between Athlete and Silversun Pickups.
Beauty is released October 19.
Gliss' forthcoming album Devotion Implosion is out November 2.
