One-off Transgressive gigs announced

Comments

Transgressive Records are celebrating their fifth anniversary this month, and are putting on a string of gigs to commemorate the event.

Taking place at the Union Chapel and Heaven in London, September 24-26, the celebratory concerts will see performances from some of the label's finest artists, including Foals, Young Knives and Esser.

And, as an added bonus, fans of Young Knives can choose the bands' setlist for the evening. Click here to vote for the songs you want to hear.

Transgressive was founded by Tim Dellow and Toby L, then only struggling to escape from their teens, after having been introduced by Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke.

With a concept of providing high-quality, unique, limited-edition physical releases, their reputation grew to include and release songs and albums by acts like The Subways, The Pipettes and Regina Spektor. And let's not forget the blood-splattered vinyls, the VHS' and the cassettes.

Five years on, Transgressive has worked its way into becoming somewhat of an umbrella (to use corporate terms), their name extending to branches dealing with publishing, management and producer management.

Not to mention having one Graham Coxon in their stall.
