The hugely influential American lo-fi group Pavement is indeed reforming, as some reports have suggested in the past week.
A statement released today by record label Domino read "Mark Ibold, Scott "Spiral Stairs" Kannberg, Stephen Malkmus, Bob Nastanovich and Steve West is reuniting for dates around the world in 2010."
It did, however, also state that "the band would like it to be known that the tour does not constitute a full-on permanent reformation".
Pavement's first show in over a decade will be in New York's Central Park on September 21, 2010, with tickets going on-sale almost a year in advance, on September 25, 2009.
