What we've learned today:
1. Rumours of Vampire Weekend making a rap album took a spectacular tumble when Q editor Paul Rees announced that he in fact "had heard the album". Holiday is tipped as big hit.
2. Former R.E.M. drummer Bill Berry reunited with Peter Buck and Mike Mills onstage in Athens, Georgia.
3. Will Smith is set to host the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, Norway on December 11.
4. Nick Littlemore from Empire Of The Sun has been writing songs with Elton John.
5. Danger Mouse and The Shins' frontman James Mercer have formed a band named Broken Bells.
6. Paul McCartney is releasing a new 2CD+1DVD box set from his New York stadium shows this summer. Good Evening New York City was filmed with no less than 90 cameras, 75 of which were flipcams distributed to audience members.
7. FYI, Beastie Boys did the whole audience-filming scheme ages ago.
8. Pearl Jam are back on the top of the American charts. Backspacer is their first number 1 on Billboard's Top 200 since 1996's No Code.
9. Noah And The Whale have had all their equipment stolen while on tour in Manchester.
10. SoH 'ej jIH 'oH [gonna] yIn reH (see below for a hint to what on earth, or perhaps on klingon, this could be).
