Q's Daily B-Sides #5

Comments

What we've learned today:

1. Muse are keen on making a James Bond theme tune. Did anyone say Moonraker 2?

2. Pavement are rumoured to reform for a NY gig next year.

4. People are still very much concerned with the Kanye/Swift/VMA episode. Come on, it wasn't THAT much of a deal.

5. Five years since the world's first "wardrobe malfunction", Janet Jackson's nipple is still a subject of court proceedings.

6. Session drummer Bobby Graham, who sat behind the kit for The Kinks' You Really Got Me has passed away, aged 69.

7. Never underestimate the power of Biffy.

Daily suggestion of possible origins of Biffy Clyro's name:
Cliffy's Biro? In the sense that Cliff Richard probably once had a really cheap pen. (This, or variations of the theme, is confirmed by various sources in the Q office, although it might just be an urban myth).

Oasis-watch:
Even the buskers are in a Gallagher-recession: A banjo-playing 'merry' fella outside Highbury & Islington tube left Wonderwall up in the air as he spotted a half-smoked cigarette on the ground.

Daily conundrum:
If bananas were round, would they still be sold as a bunch?

On The Office Stereo:
- Biffy Clyro: Only Revolutions

- Muse: The Resistance

- Beatles: Abbey Road

( It's been a good day)
