Stereophonics at Electric Ballroom

Comments

Stereophonics played a thrilling set at Camden's Electric Ballroom last night, mixing new material with an impressive array of hit singles from their five previous studio albums.

Kelly Jones & co, who are set to release their new album, Keep Calm And Carry On, in November, launched into new song She's Alright with two rather sombre models/dancers pulling shapes on either side of the singer. With the models leaving the stage after the inaugural track, the Welsh/South American quartet carried on with forthcoming single Innocent, before prompting a huge audience response with the intro of The Bartender &The Thief.

With new rockers, including I Got Your Number and Trouble being previewed alongside the sweeping anthems of Could You Be The One and 100MPH, 'Phonics were keen to road-test their new material ahead of their huge Cardiff Castle gig in October.

Not that familiar tracks were set aside, Pick A Part That's New, Have A Nice Day and Local Boy In The Photograph all saw massive singalongs from an anticipating crowd, who also witnessed Jones perform a heartfelt solo take on Maybe Tomorrow as first encore number.

Keep Calm And Carry On is out November 16.

  • I love them. Can't wait for the album. They never fail to capture the man experience, and with such simplistic beauty. Flawless.
