Best Live Act - presented by Marshall Amplification
Arctic Monkeys received the Best Live Act award today at the Q Awards with Russian Standard Vodka.
The hugely popular band, released their thrid album Humbug earlier this year, which saw them move away from the sound that defined their breakthrough.
A sweaty, post-gig Matt Helders and Alex Turner accepted the award with a pre-recorded video, having been presented with the accolade right after their show in Seattle.

What utter crap that Artic Monkeys won best live act. Best live act my arse....more like worse live act. Can't even believe they were nominated, let alone in the same category as the others that were nominated. Saw them at Leeds this year, and still can't quite believe they headlined over the Prodigy. People were literally leaving and I nearly did too. But I thought surely it must get better, and guess what, it didn't. Dreadful boring stuff and Alex has the stage presence of a wet fish....

Went to see them at the MEN Arena, can't believe they won an award for best live act. They were pretty much static on stage & the only audience participation was when the audience took over singing 2 of the songs. There are so many other bands I've seen that are better - Charlatans, Courteeners, Oasis, etc.
