Q Innovation In Sound
Sonic Youth were given the Innovation In Sound Award today at this year's Q Awards with Russian Standard Vodka.
Presented to them by Radio 1's Zane Lowe, who gave an eloquent and passionate summary of why the band deserve the award. With the entire band on-stage behind him, Thurston Moore recalled their first trip to the U.K. and thanked listeners in the U.K. for their support through the years.
The American grungers have been incomparable in modern US rock, their unique sound being an important influence on everyone from Nirvana and Pearl Jam up to today's grunge revivalists.

I too was at the Forum show and jolly thrilling it was too! Nice to hear "Death Valley '69" given an airing again.
The MC that introduced the group said the show was going to be aired on Q Radio on November 6th, but at what time and on who's show?

Doesn't seem it was on today, if it was they haven't told anyone and I certainly missed it.
Does anyone know if it was on? I was at the gig and they definately said that it was on November 6th
