Top 5 Sesame Street music moments

Comments

November 10 sees the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street coming to a furry, colourful start, with special guests for this season including Michelle Obama, Cameron Diaz, Kobe Bryant and Ricky Gervais. To celebrate this in our own little way, we have compiled some of the finest artist-appearances on the TV show. See below for our top 5 Sesame Street music moments, and some other memorable clips.

5. Ray Charles, Tony Bennett and more - The Alphabet Song
There's certainly a fair share of good renditions of the alphabet song, but the mix of Bennet and Charles with the likes of Ellen DeGeneres, basketballer David Robinson and Spin Doctors, is utterly strange.

4. Norah Jones - Don't Know Why
Jones patiently waits for the arrival of the letter Y. Cue innocent puns of top class.

3. Feist - 1,2,3,4
Canadian songstress teaches kids to count. It's just really fun.

2. Stevie Wonder with Grover
Man behind Superstition (and 'a few' others) does some skatting with Grover before admitting "you know what Grover, you did it better than me".

1. R.E.M. - Furry Happy Monsters
Micael Stipe & co dance their way through a song, which, in all fairness, is A LOT better than the original.
