Leeds band The Pigeon Detectives have covered Tainted Love for children's charity Action For Children (formerly NCH). The band came up with the idea after hearing radio presenters JK and Joel talking about the charity's campaign Action On Neglect to combat child neglect in Yorkshire.
Speaking to the radio show lead singer, Matt Bowman said: "We were sat at home listening to the radio and heard the presenters talking about the Cash for Kids appeal. It was Ryan who came up with the idea of getting involved and doing a song ourselves."
Guitarist Ryan Wilson added: "We picked Tainted Love as we wanted to be a Leeds band covering a Leeds song... Soft Cell didn't record the original, but they certainly made the song famous, they came up to Leeds and made it their own."
The Cribs have also joined the campaign, recording a version of the Idlewild track Modern Way.
Both tracks are available on iTunes:

All the proceeds from the downloads of the tracks will go to 96.3 Radio Aire's Cash for Kids Action on Neglect Appeal and all the money raised will go to Action For Children to benefit neglected children within Leeds and the West Yorkshire area.
