Q's Daily B-Sides #22

Comments

What we've learned today:
1. Billy Corgan and David Byrne are set to feature in a conversation series about psychologist Carl Jung.

2. A music weekly even referred to the psychoanalyst as the 'legendary Carl Jung'. How nice.

3. Al Martino, who was the inaugural chart-topper in 1952 has died, aged 82.

4. January 18 will see the release of Eels' new album.

5. Meanwhile, the release date of Julian Casablancas' debut solo album has been postponed to November 2.

6. Could a new album from Rihanna be on its way? Her website delivers the following message: The Wait is Ova - Nov. 23 09. Daily B-Sides take a calculated risk and assume it's simply a misprint of The Wait is Oval, suggesting that Rihanna has re-interpreted philosophy and is to hold a 6-hour speech on Confucianistic Taoism.

7. Rick Wakeman is to diet for charity. The ex-Yes keyboard virtuoso wants to lose two stone before Christmas.

8. Jared Leto, actor/musician, has reportedly sacked his management team for no apparent reason.

9. Yoko Ono has thanked Lady GaGa for recently covering Imagine.

Dictionary-Defying Tabloid Headline Of The Day:
"Noel-go area" (Daily Mirror)

Daily Office Highlight:
The office's collective face-twitch when Bob Dylan's christmas album was put on the stereo unannounced. And NO ONE had a webcam.

Oasis-Watch:
Liam apparently ran into Noel's ex, Meg Matthews on the street. We would do A LOT for a recording of their conversation.

On The Office Stereo:
- Julian Casablancas
- Bob Dylan - Christmas In The Heart
- Etienne Jaumet - Night Music
- Julian Casablancas again
