13.41 - Gary Numan takes the stage to announce Best New Act, White Lies.
Never ones to upstage anyone, the London trio modestly take the award and mutter three syllables, which is roughly two more than Mr. Numan,
13.44 - Our not-so-modest host Al Murray brings out the crisp bazooka, aiming for Muse apparently. Whispers of them orbiting Jupiter are most likely frequent.
13.46 - Breakthrough Artist : Mr Hudson.
13.50 - Upon seeing the nominees for Best Video, Murray uses the opportunity to rip through Mika and Florence "not that desperate" Welch.
13.53 - Q Idol: Spandau Ballet. The first, and last band to utter the sentence of death: "We'll eat Oasis for breakfast."
13.58: Amy Winehouse is presenting an award. Only problem is she's still not here, even though she allegedly spent the night in this very hotel. Murray reasons that her "beehive is presumably stuck in a lift".
14.10: Sonic Youth accepts Innovation In Sound award by giving the longest speech so far (a minute).
14:15 Lily Allen is very proud she won best track. Q are very proud to be in the presence of Lily Allen.
14:16 - We spot Jarvis Cocker on stage presenting an award. But then again, it could just be a stick figure.
14:31 - A sweaty Matt Helders and Alex Turner post-gig are projected onto the backdrop. We're not actually sure if they said thanks for the Best Live Act gong...bastards...
14.35: Kelly Jones gives Fearne Cotton a hug on-stage. It's like a dear diary moment for a reclusive blogger.
14.36: Al Murray calls Kasabian "wankers" for forgetting which award they've just won.
14.38: James Blunt introduces Cat Stevens at the exact same time as the volume of chatter reaches its peak level. If only he had brought a triangle. His triangle.
14.43: Muse receives Best Act In The World Today. Matt Bellamy treats us to what can only be the concept of their next album by talking faster than the speed of light.
14.44: We just realised what Bellamy is wearing. And some said musical brilliance and atrocious fashion sense don't go hand in hand.
14.46: Al Murray apparently gets an erection whilst introducing Robert Plant. Fellow presenters Bob Harris and Tinariwen hopefully don't.
14.49: Robert Plant starts his speech.
14.50: Plant defies any previous "lets-keep-this-one-simple" speech-tactic by referencing roughly 43 names.
14.55: Plant finishes his speech.
15.00: Drinks, food, and off to the aftershow. Cheers!

Looking at the photos, you were incredibly right about Bellamy's outfit -- what the hell was that? I didn't realise that a huge ego resulted in a pattern frenzy when it comes to dressing. Maybe he's trying to hypnotise the ladies into leaving him alone... anyway. fun tweeting, thanks! L
