Yeah, definitely agree this should go to Matt Bellamy although his downfall might be that he is too multi talented to concentrate on the front man role! Still there aren't many frontmen these days that switch between guitar/piano effortlessly and bound around the stage with the energy that Matt does! Can't wait to see Muse in November!

I've never seen a frontman look so lost on stage; wandering around lookin' like some kid who lost their mum at the supermarket, and about as charismatic as Howard from the Halifax ad. Matt Bellamy of Muse. He can do EVERYTHING: talented multi-instrumentalist, beautiful vocalist, amazing composer, and so much fun to watch - he completely loses himself in the music! He's also sweet, gorgeous, incredibly modest and open, and connects so well with the crowd. He's just the best.

has everyone forgotten about Dave Grohl. i saw the Foo Fighters and Wembley, and man he puts on a show. but i only out him 3rd, i saw kasabian at wembley and Tom was unbelievably good, so gets second, but then number 1 has to go to Liam Gallagher, once again at wembley, he might not move much, but the power he puts into it, and the passion, you cant take your eyes off him, hes definitely the best

Tom Chaplin of Keane deserves to win this, and if you've never seen them live, don't knock them. You'd certainly be surprised and impressed by their performance. I beleive even some Oasis fans who saw them at V Festival in Chelmsford when Oasis cancelled, were converted. LOL

BRANDON FLOWERS! (THE KILLERS) because i love him :) and he change a lot from Hot Fuss era!! I saw live with The Killers and is awesome.

Definitely NOT Brandon Flowers. He can't play an instrument except maybe keyboard, he only sings. He walks around stage like a lost sheep. Plus the last Killers album was pure shit.
It MUST be Matt Bellamy. He is an absolute genius. He sings fantasticly, he is an incredible guitarist and pianist. He writes great songs too. He is also very energetic and enthusiastic on stage too, which is one of the reasons why Muse are the best live band in the world.
Matt Bellamy is by far the best frontman overall. 2nd I would have Alex Turner and in 3rd place Tom from Kasabian

Honestly I don't get the hatred for Brandon Flowers. He is puts on pretty powerful performances. And for all that say he can only play keyboard/ synthesizers. Liam Gallagher is the best frontman that we ever had in music, matt bellamy? please! he's a great singer and a great artist, but liam is better a thousands of times. his vioce, atittude, music, succes aven when he got a terrible childhood, and his looking. or we're talking with punkers that like green day? green day is really really great but liam and noel gave the british music his life back in 1994, do you guys remember Supersonic? live forever? Liam Gallagher is spent these days, but from 1994 to 2002, best voice in rock with the possible exception of Bono - not to mention his incredible swagger, stance and style. One of the best.

I've had the awesome experience of watching both Brandon Flowers & Billie Joe Armstrong on stage.
I think they're on the same level. Seeing as GD have had 10ish years longer than TK. I think it's the pure energy and passion that you see on BRF's face that boosts the performance factor, coz obviously BJA knows how to please the crowd with his extra 10ish years. I recommend seeing them both. They're my top bands, evar! <3 TK & GD...odd combanation, I know.

What can I say? HE IS THE ONE AND ONLY! He got a wonderful voice,carismatic,a good dancer-entertainer and his lyrics make you feel as he knows you and how you sometimes feel in life and that has bring strength into my life - I have not feelt alone in my thoughts and I have been able to connact with my feelings - thanks to the music! His music that is more "dancing-music" does also make me feel good - then I bee HAPPY and wan´t to dance ALL NIGHT LONG! He is an ARTIST that have IT ALL and on top of that he seems to be an emotional man with experience in life that has made him "grow" as a person. It realy feels as he is a man - just an ordinary man with flesh and blood and don´t wan´t to be a superstar but being except for what he is and for what he does in music. He feels like an ordinary,honest,good man trying to live as we all do and has been given a gift - the musik/song just to bring us, his fans a glimt of real good ENTERTAINMENT

There's a great danger that all you'll get is a significant number of votes for the frontman of voter's favourite bands. Every band website that comes across your poll will encourage their members to vote en masse. I love Oasis but I wouldn't vote for Liam Gallagher as all he offers is a snarl but their site is telling everyone to come here and vote for him.
My favourite would have to be Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, not my favourite band (though up there) but definitely the most entertaining frontman I've ever seen. He offers a bit more than your average 'ere's one off the new album' banalities and dominates the wide-eyed one-legged stance bracket with intelligence and great wit.

Freddie Mercury. NO one can touch his genius. as for Liam gallagher, you must be kidding. without his songwriting brother his reedy thin crap vocals are all attitude with nothing to back it up. a front man is someone who own an audience while commanding them with the look of an eye or the slightest gesture. Not someone who might not show up for the gig and be drunk while your brother has to sing the songs.

As much as I love Muse, Matthew Bellamy is not really a front-man, he's a fucking great musician with an awesome presence, but not a front-man. I'm not knocking him, I love the guy. Hetfield is probably up there at the moment, shits all over most people. Dave Grohl is in a similar mould to Hetfield too.
Robert Plant? Average. Liam Gallagher? Noel's bitch. Billy Joe Armstrong? Decent rocker, nothing special as a front man, decent though. Brandon Flowers!? Do me a favour, go discover some music. Are you kidding me.
It's all about Freddie Mercury. That is the ultimate stage presence, the ultimate voice, the ultimate performer. This is the guy who people like Hetfield and Grohl look up to.
If you like music, then you cannot go for anyone other than Freddie. There are other great front-men, but the guy redefined what it is to be a front-man. "Front-men" as we know them exist today because of him.

I dunno I don't listen to too much of the music from 60's-80's so I couldn't judge the legends too well. but Brandon Flowers looks gay with his eyeliner and I agree with the person who said that he looks lost when he's on stage like he lost his mother at the supermarket haha that was funny! :) but it's kinda disappointing that only 12 yr olds made comments on this page. it should show the more recent comments first though. and also most of the people who voted for Matt Bellamy probably just found out about them last year when they started playing them on MTV. fail.

In this poll, you are supposed to vote for the best frontman EVER in your opinion. Matt Bellamy is fine, Brandon Flowers and Billie Armstrong are OK too, but best frontman of all times? Seriously?! Better start off with Freddie Mercury, Elvis to go further back into the past, Jim Morrison, probably Prince, James Hetfield, James Brown, why not throw in Michael Jackson too (not the rolemodel of a rock'n'roll frontman, but it didn't say anything of a speciic genre). There have been so many great frontman in the last decades. I'm not saying Bellamy and so on are bad, but they don't really deserve first place here in my opinion. Actually, because the fangirls and fanboys will vote them number one anyway....
