Comments

Cancer Research UK's Sound & Vision annual heritage music fundraiser will return to Abbey Road studios on February 25, 2010.

The event features performances from top class musicians aswell as an auction of music memorabilia from some of the biggest names in the music industry.

Sound & Vision gives music and photography fans the chance to bid for some of the most iconic images in music history for one night only. This year's collection will include signed and limited edition prints by photographers Gered Mankowitz, John Rankin, Brian Aris, Jill Furmanovsky and Robert Altman.

There will also be a unique selection of music memorabilia auctioned on the night, including Paul Weller and The Stone Roses items up for grabs.

Newton Faulkner will perform live at the event, with further acts to be announced in the coming weeks. Previous performers at the event have included Paul Weller, Kelly Jones and Lemar.

Speaking about the 2010 event, broadcaster Bob Harris, the patron of Sound & Vision and a cancer survivor added:

"I am very proud to be a patron of this gala event and to have so many wonderful artists with me on stage. It's truly inspiring to see so many respected names from the music and photography industry come together to help raise money for Cancer Research UK's lifesaving work. It's such an important cause, and one that I unfortunately know about all too well, having been diagnosed with prostate cancer just over two years ago. But, thanks to the progress that's been made, I beat the disease. That's why I'm well and truly behind Sound & Vision again this year. The 2009 event was a triumph, and I hope we can raise even more money for the charity's work in 2010."

Those not able to attend the live auction can still purchase their own piece of music history by visiting the Sound & Vision eBay site in February. To view highlights from the 2009 event and for more information check out visit www.soundandvisionofficial.com.
