Fyfe Dangerfield is the frontman of indietronica outfit The Guillemots. He is also a peculiar character. Not that it's essential.
Although, his first solo single - a free download - is a chirpy disco-influenced stomp-pop track that echoes Oasis circa Lyla as much as Primal Scream, Happy Mondays and of course Guillemots themselves. It's a lo-fi inspired recording of Fyfe & co having the time of the their lives with a piano, a guitar and some drums. It could possibly lift the spirit of any Chris Cornell fan who stood in line to buy Scream. And that is essential.
It's a simple track. The three and a half minutes of rusty vocals, sporadic falsetto and even more sporadic guitar lines oozing of carefree enjoyment. Slightly daft, but oh so ace.
