Video: Morrissey throws fan out of gig

Comments

Morrissey had a German fan thrown out of one of his gigs earlier this week.

The incident occurred during Moz's concert in Hamburg, and saw the former Smiths singer launch into a tirade against a fan before having security eject him from the venue.

Between two songs, Morrissey (a vegetarian) suggested that people from Hamburg should be referred to as Hamburgists rather than Hamburgers before performing 'I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris'.

After finishing the song, Moz then proceeded to single out a person in the front row, saying: "So, somebody shouted and told me to go and f**k myself. Who said that? Why did you say it?" before giving the microphone to an unidentified man, who nervously stated the singer had made a joke about them.

Morrissey then retaliated: "Did I? Why don't you just go. Go my boy. Walk walk walk. You can leave and you can f**k yourself."

Being pulled out of the venue by security, the undoubtedly heartbroken fan shouted "But I love you..", only for Morrissey to respond, "Well, love me outside".

Thanks to the video-happy Germans, you can view the entire incident via three fan clips below.

It's been an eventful year for Morrissey, who has seen pints thrown at him onstage in both Oslo and Liverpool, the latter prompting him to leave the stage after only two songs.

  • I admire Morrissey a great deal and think he's a legend, but I think it's a bit rich of him to be offended by somebody speaking their mind. I feel sorry for the guy - Morrissey was out of order here.

  • I don't see why morrissey, or any other performer should have top accept insults. If you were at work, and a fellow member of staff told you to go fuck yourself while you were simply doing your job, you would probably either retalliate verbally, or report it. What's the difference? None. The fact that the audience member wasn't bright enough to realise that Morrissey wasn't making a joke about him any other people from Hamburg is just disappointing really, but he should have thought about it before hurling abuse. Some people are sensitive. And some are clearly not.

  • I support almost anything Morrissey does, but this is simply ridiculous... he´s aging and he´s losing it.

  • Morrisey, I think the best solution is to not tour any more. You obviously don't enjoy it and it's becoming a chore. This way you can stay in, shout at the TV and whinge to your heart's content. And you won't have to meet any more of your disgusting fans who have given you this privileged life.
