What we've learned today:
1. Alex Turner joined Richard Hawley onstage during a benefit concert in Islington yesterday. Hawley also suggested a future collaboration between the pair by saying "Well, we are gonna, you know... I really want, um... I'm not saying. No, I'm not! I'll get shot." Rock solid then.
2. A mini-Beatles reunion will see the light of day next year. Paul McCartney joined Ringo Starr in the studio for the latter's forthcoming album Y Not, where he contributed bass and harmonies to songs Walk With Me and Peace Dream. Y Not is out January 12 and also features appearances from Ben Harper and Joss Stone.
3. Blur's Glastonbury performance has been named the best headline performance of 2009 at the UK Festival Awards.
4. Rod Stewart is set to tour UK and Ireland next year.
5. Recent The Gigs co-headliner Mumford and Sons will return to The Forum for a special New Years Eve concert.
6. Lily Allen lunged yet again into the file-sharing debate with a claim that she does not mind if people buy burned copies of her CDs. Says Allen: "I haven't a problem with that as long as the person buying it places some kind of value on my music"
7. Daft Punk are rumoured to be embarking on a world arena tour next year.
