Win a chance to play at Glastonbury 2010

Comments

Once again Q Magazine, QTheMusic.com and Glastonbury Festival are teaming up for the world's greatest festival's Emerging Talent Competition. Whether you're a solo artist or band desperate to get out of the garage, you could win a slot on the Pyramid Stage.

Glastonbury has run the Emerging Talent Competition for the past five festivals, unearthing bands such as The Subways, Golden Silvers, Scouting For Girls and We Have Band in the process. An elite squad of musical luminaries including Glastonbury head honchos Michael and Emily Eavis, BBC Radio 1's Huw Stephens and Q's Editor-In-Chief Paul Rees will judge this year's contest.

Emily Eavis says: "New music is an integral part of Glastonbury and we want to give the best new bands a chance to play on the Pyramid Stage. Last year, as well as the winners performing on the John Peel Stage, all the finalists got gigs on smaller stages, too. We look forward to hearing from all those unsigned bands who want a chance to play next year, which is looking set to be very special as it's our 40th anniversary."

Artists and bands can upload two tracks at QTheMusic.com/glastonburyemergingtalent.

A shortlist of 11 will go forward to the live finals in March at Pilton Working Men's Club. As well as the 11 acts chosen by the expert panel, one wildcard entry will be chosen through a public vote by QTheMusic. com users, giving them the opportunity to bag the 12th spot in the live finals.

Earlybirds - Extra Prize!
The competition closes Monday, 25 January 2010, but for those earlybirds who enter before December 31 2009 there is also a further bonus chance to win a slot at the Queen's Head, the Glastonbury Festival stage curated by Q, as well as the chance to compete for the main prize.

The Emerging Talent Competition is open to musicians from the UK or Ireland that are not signed to a major label. Q Editor-In-Chief Paul Rees says: "In an ideal world, the act that wins this contest will make their first appearance next summer and headline the Pyramid Stage in 2014".

Glastonbury Festival runs from 23-27 June 2010.
